Congratulations to Diamond's 8th and 7th grades for spectacular showings in this year's contests. The 7th graders came in FIRST PLACE in all of New England, with over 400 schools participating, while the 8th graders came in FOURTH PLACE!

Diamond also has the distinction of having the two individual scoring champions, which is an unprecedented event!! They are:

The New England Mathematics League contest is administered every February to grades 7 and 8, and every March to grade 6.

The contest contains 40 multiple-choice questions which must be answered within 30 minutes. The score submitted for each grade level is the sum total of the top five scores.

This contest is a wonderful test of a student's critical thinking and problem-solving skills The score becomes a part of each student's mathematics profile, and is used to help teachers evaluate placement into next subsequent courses of study.
